PROS

Happily surprised

When I got my Honeywell MN12CES 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner I was not sure if a small portable unit would actually be effective. I liked the idea that it could be used as a fan or dehumidifier as well but really was surprised that it did cool down my bedroom. Being portable I can take it with me into the living room if I want to.

Wonderful

Even though it did take some time to cool down the room when I first started it, the air felt fresh with it running. It doesn’t use as much electricity as my old window unit either.

Studio Chill

Have only used it the one year since I live in a normally cool climate. But it has been amazing. My studio apartment is almost 700 sq ft and the Honeywell portable didn’t cool it all down but I could drag it from one side to the other as needed and my summer was perfectly chilled.

It’ll do

Got my Honeywell when the North West heated up last year. I can understand it is not the most powerful AC on the market but it did cool down my living room to an acceptable level. Kinda noisy but I got used to that. Like it that I don’t have to keep emptying buckets of water out of it.

Life of the party

My Honeywell portable AC keeps my little house cool enough that the neighbors are always coming over now to sit in the chill. The setup was very easy and I had it going in just a few minutes. I highly recommend this AC for anyone looking for a portable cooling machine.

An Excellent AC

I have used portable AC units instead of window ACs for years. The Honeywell MN12CES portable air conditioner has proven itself the best of the lot. Yes, it is noisy but not really any more so than any other portable AC. The setup is quick and the only drawback is the need to clean the exhaust a few times a year to keep mold from growing there.

CONS

Not really portable

This unit is bigger than you might think and with the requirement of a venting tube placed outside through a window, it is some trouble if you do need to move it. Also, mold collects in the exhaust and you will need to clean it regularly.

Big

While the Honeywell portable AC does keep you cool it does so at a cost. First off, this thing is heavy (maybe 50 pounds or more) so it is not for the weak or infirm if they are trying to move it around.

Noisy

Even though it does cool down my bedroom, it does make a lot of noise. I like to watch TV in bed and I have to turn it up quite a bit when the air conditioner is on and it makes phone conversations very tricky.
